Time to Act Team = a team of 2 young adults who have chosen to take part in a challenging but rewarding gap year programme. Hosted by a local church, this team is trained by Act 4 to reach out into the community through school presentations. This is supported by an ongoing range of community based activities that our teams take part in, as they equip local churches in their aim to reach out to children.
Act 4 in Aylesbury is relatively new, as we have only been running here for a year. Inspired by the work we had been carrying out in Potters Bar, The Church on Fairford Leys expressed an interest in setting up a Time to Act Team in Aylesbury, and we have had a successful first year of the project.
We are currently working regularly with 4 local schools, with an aim of expanding further in our 2nd year. Our relationships with local schools mean that we are able to add to the learning they provide for the children, through our creative presentations, benefiting faith and non faith schools equally.
The teams work in schools links to their work in the community. Working with our host church, The Church on Fairford Leys, our teams take part in Toddler Group, Messy Church, Youth Clubs, Sunday Schools, and community events.
